01.27.26 Building your yoga playlist.

Music or no music? I LOVE music during a yoga practice but I respect that not all folks are down to hear some jams in the background while they’re focusing on their practice. Whether you’re brand new to building your playlist or looking to enhance your playlist, I hope this blog will be helpful for you! :-)

The platform I currently use is Spotify. However, I have been seeing things on social media lately about Spotify (I won’t get into that right now); so I’m sort of searching for a new platform but for now, Spotify it is.

Let’s say you’re building a playlist for a nice well-rounded Vinyasa practice; my first artist search is DJ Drez and his partner Marti Nikko. If you don’t follow them on IG, I highly recommend you do. ;-) The music they make together is out of this world wonderful. My other favorite artists for a Vinyasa flow would be Sol Rising and DJ Taz Rashid.

Now for a Yin or Restorative practice, my go-to artists are Garth Stevenson, Random Rab, and Malte Marten. I love a good traditional Handpan sound for a Yin class. Think about softer, slower sounds that can be calming to the nervous system.
